Each moment is a moment of encounter. One meets the other. We look and are looked at. We push and are pulled. Each actor has a unmistakable presence which announces itself. We can consider the other to be a mere thing. Or we can invite it to open its presence, live for us and reveal its hidden aspects. This interaction can be transforming. We may find ourselves in a dialogue we never anticipated. With no preconceptions, we stand back and listen to the stories sent our way. We choose connection instead of alienation. We welcome whatever crosses our path.
